who will connect the dots?

Back in the pre 9-11 days the FBI and the CIA were prohibited by the Church Amendment from exchanging information, and a myriad other stupid constraints. All of which weakened our country's intelligence gathering and eventually resulted in the 9-11 attack.
Now this administration is reverting back to the same stupidity. This has not passed unnoticed by the Islam o terrorists, and the next attack on our country is already in the final planning stages and probably on its way to our shores.
Following the 9-11 attack the liberals shouted out to Bush " why didn't you connect the dots?". Now you can see why the dots were never connected and will not be connected in the future.
The disassembling of our intelligence gathering ability and counter terrorism actions is the perfect recipe for disaster.
But I have come to expect that from an administration that never had any respect for the people who safeguard our country.

Do you have some specifics?

Especially to this statement....

Thumbs up

You are right grass. After 9/11, there were widespread questions of "what did Bush know, and when did he know it?". The head of the DNC (Howard Dean) even repeated rumors that Bush knew of the attacks ahead of time.

Had president Bush thrown roadblocks between intelligence agencies prior to 9/11 ...

What would you do with the information? Can you refute that the planning is not in progress? Isn't it true that OTM have been captured trying to sneak into the US? Were they coming for tea? Have you read the book The Cell by Miller,et al.? Have you been following the Somali contingent within the US that have gone for military training and returned to the US? Need I go on? Complacency is a sure route to catastrophe.

Just as I thought. You don't have any proof to back up your statement and were just running off at the mouth.

It doesn't take a genius to know that there is someone....somewhere...that would like to attack us. No one would deny that. But if you think that just because Obama is POTUS, that all of a sudden we have become less vigilant to foreign aggressors, you need to put the dipper down and back away from the 'Right-Wing Kool-Aid' bowl.

And no, I don't read the right wing fringe conspiracy theories either.

I'm more worried about the White Supremacists/Skinheads/Racist Groups that live among us...................quite frankly.

I am sorry to tell you the book I mentioned is not a right wing conspiracy book. Take a look at it. I was written before the 9-11 attack. As far as this administration is concerned, you have been hanging around the cool-aid too long. Wake up! It is not too late for you......yet!
It doesn't take a genius to know that separating the FBI and the CIA from intelligence sharing and gathering is stupid. It led to the last wreck and it will again.
Besides, you would deny any information given to you that our country is in danger. So why bother with you on this subject?

You're wrong.

http://www.curledup.com/thecell.htm (click here)

"The first problem with The Cell, John Miller and Michael Stone’s account of Islamist terrorism and American attempts to intercede before 9/11, is the subtitle, which contains an assumption about law enforcement and intelligence that is anti-liberal (in the sense of a government of limited scope) and assured only in retrospect.

In an age when terrorism is no longer “propaganda by deed,” when a terrorist cell can be a virtually impossible to trace one or two people and still create havoc, we cannot kid ourselves that the Good Guys are going to stop every terrorist plot, especially if we still want freedom of movement, international trade and right not to have our neighbors or the state spy on us. When we lose those rights, then the terrorists have won."

Maybe YOU bought into Bush's contention that we should give up our rights for 'security'....................But I haven't.

Bush had only been in office barely 8 months when this happened. An attack of this magnitude took years to plan and execute, remember we trained the pilots here in our schools, during the clinton era. Bush had the misfortune of being the guy in office when everything started, thats all.
