Like Newt Gingrich?

Anyways, did you check your source Pappy? Do you know who Alex "911 was an inside job" Jones is?

I think once you do you will be embarrassed for making your post.

The facts speak for itself. First time the Great Lakes have frozen solid in 20 years; snowed in Houston, etc., etc. It is what it is.

Yes, the facts speak for themselves: The CO2 level in the atmosphere is currently 50% higher than what it has averaged for the last 400,000 years, and 25% higher than its highest peak.

A summer thunder shower does not a drought end.

There are many theories that temporary cooling may very well be a by-product during the overall warming of the earth.

Here's but on article on the subject.

Ocean Cooling to Briefly Halt Global Warming, Researchers Say - Bloomberg.com

But hey, if there are those who think an occasional anecdotal event proves a long range phenomona.................who am I to dissuade their short-sided view of life.

As I've said many times, if the earth is warming............and we are accelerating it by our actions..........please don't worry too much because you will have at least lived your life in the comfort you have become entitled to.

The term global warming is out, now it is climate change.

The science of this will be discussed for years. How do you know a chart showing 400,000 years is accurate? You don't. There is no certainty there at all. Is the sampling done in the same way it is today over various points on Earth? Sorry, not enough to turn the whole economy on its head.

People are not going to stop breathing to save the planet.

Instead of wasting money on a ridiculous bureaucracy why not admit no one else in the world is going to control CO2. Even the Europeans are backing off.

How do you solve two problems with one stone? You create a new energy source while taking CO2 out of the atmosphere. This makes you CO2 neutral.

This is how.

I personally am not a Global Warming believer, well ok maybe a little but countries that have technology will not suffer as a result of the warming and 3rd world countries are already starving so I just don't forsee it as a problem.

That doesn't change the fact that Pappy cited Alex Jones as a source.

It boggles my mind that people would so readily believe something from someone who has been so widely discredited on every topic he speaks about.

Yes, Alex Jones is almost as bad as Al Bore in what he says. I didn't quite catch your ozone hole theory and why it has closed up. It only cost the world freon changes a few trillion dollars and a bogus theory, but what the heck, it felt good.

Well, I would lump them into the same category as people who just run their mouth to make money.

Citing Alex "The Moon Landings were faked" Jones though Pappy........

If you readily believe the website of someone like that without calling it into question, then my god man?????

Last I heard - which is several years out of date - the levels of stratospheric chlorine and R-12 had peaked and started dropping after the Montreal Protocol took effect and the ozone holes had stopped growing, but they had not started receding.

During a global warming trend, not every square inch of the globe will be warmer 100% of the time. Global warming is the average temperature of the surface of the "3 rock" increasing. It has been observed, noted, noticed, discovered (WETF) that the earth is in a warming trend. Global warming isn't really an arguable point amongst knowledgeable or learned peoples.

What is arguable is whether mankind is:

:Fully responsible?
:Partially responsible?
:Not responsible?

After that argument is determined, the argument becomes can mankind stop, slow or change the warming trend?

One school of thought is that since the Earth "IS" warming, and we as mankind "MAY" be somewhat the cause, should we do what we can to lower the impact we have.

Additionally, some of us think it wise to not go off the deep end possibly causing more harm and/or burdening us with useless hardship. Instead we should exercise some common sense and do what we can that will do the most good without destroying our life styles or mankind in it's entirety.

I have to ask this one question to gore supporters. If he truly believes that human induced co2 production will eventually cause catastrophic global climate change which could end up destroying life as we know it. Then why is he trying to regulate, tax, etc. the effect of the problem and not the problem itself. Why is he going after the co2 and not the human population that produces it? Why, because it is more marketable. He is a very crude business man after all. He has made huge sums of money in oil and other "dirty" businesses only realizing that he can make way more if he could convince the whole planet on his c02 theory by using data over a short period of earth's history. This is why most of the scientist that are balking and disproving his claims have looked at data from over hundreds of millions of years and proving that this may just be another ecological bump in the road. just my .02
