Yea, but as opposed to a clock, congressman Rogers is not only right, but he provides proof of his points.

What "proof?"

All I heard was his opinion......... and a few skewed statistics.

Although I share very few views with those on the far right...or far left....I at least thought that the hard core's on the right weren't such sissies that they would be be scared and influenced by a few fear mongers like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, et. al.

As opposed to the fear mongering from Obama, Pelosie, Reid, the rest of the Demoncrats and CNN, I suppose.

Not to mention that nobody's proposing that American medical care be changed, only the way it's paid for.

Mark it down, if any kind of Obama-Care passes and 40 million more people hit the doctor's offices, YOU won't get to see one until 2020. What is needed is tort reform most of all. As it stands now, most doctors are afraid not to cover all the bases so as not to get sued, and that cost alot more for everyone. Also, Obama says no illegals to get health care but won't allow proof of citizenship, go figure.

"Tort reform" is a miniscule (+-2%) part of our overall health costs and will not even make a dent in the problem.

I do not see how we can plan to cover more people at the same time we're going to limit profits for doctors.

Investors.com - 45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul

We already have a shortage of primary care doctors:

Primary-Care Doctor Shortage May Undermine Health Reform Efforts - washingtonpost.com

Driving up demand for medical care at the same time the supply of doctors shrinks will lead to increased waiting times and rationing of care.

Right, I saw a clip of Obama going on and on how the bill would create tort reform, 60 Minutes I believe. Later they interviewed a well respected commentator who said he'd actually read the bill and there was absolutely no mention of tort reform. And to our resident Limousine Liberal when cruising by: No, the commentator wasn't anyone on the dreaded Fox News.

It's far from miniscule to a health care professional. Ask a doctor some time what his yearly premium is for malpractice insurance. Frivilous high dollar lawsuits also cause doctors to practice CYA medicine which costs us all, including insurance companys, big bucks.

So let's not give American citizens the right to affordable health care because you don't think we have enough doctors?

GMAFB....

Easy to say for someone who already has affordable health insurance.

Not sure if you're referencing me but, you can always put me on ignore if the truth makes you mad.

It's easy to give an opinion without any data to back it up. After all, that's how so many talking heads make a living.

Here's my proof.

Why stop at health care? I think that I have a right to an affordable 5,000 square foot house. And now that I think of it, it's not fair that the despised rich people can afford a yaught, but I can't. If the government would only step up and put some wicked price controls on the greedy Big House and Big Boat industries, we'd all live in paradise!

You think that we might have any supply problems if prices of those commodities were arbitrarily reduced (being a disincentive for the manufactures to produce at the same time demand is increased!)?

Economics 101. Offered at community colleges throughout the USA.

BTW. I am self employed and have no health insurance.

We do not have a right to health care. We have a right to work if we want and to retain the profits from our labor. If we earn enough to purchase health care and are able to find a doctor willing to provide care for a price we both agree on, then we can make an exchange on these terms.

Government price controls generally cause shortages and in this situation almost certainly will. Given that we are already facing a shortage of health care providers, it seems a bad time to require them to do more, for less.
