We (wife, three kids and I) ride in a 2005 PSD Excursion on 40" tires with aftermarket bumpers, straight pipe exhaust, etc. - a real head turner to say the least.
The bad:
The brakes make a very loud growling sound when i apply them - unless i stab them and apply heavy pressure until i come to a stop - which is what i don't want to do - the people behind me really don't like it!
The ugly:
Also, i have 4:56 gears installed to tow my 16' trailer with (4 wheelers, motorcycles, whatever) but i cant tow because i cant stop with confidence! The trailer doesn't have brakes it weighs about 3000lbs. loaded. I have plenty of brake material left but this growl and fade is annoying and dangerous.

Those brake pads sure do look very high quality. I will look into these, next time I do a brake job on my Super Duty.
