2009 F-650/750

The '09 F-650 and 750 are showing up on the lots now. Doesn't seem to be any changes from the '08 models.

Well LV looks like we can say Ford is back in class 8. I downloaded the 09 order guide and the new max GVW is 37,000 lbs. this of course would be a 23,000 lb rear and the 14,000 lb front axle. You could get that combination last year but the truck was always downrated to 33,000lbs.

In the past, the order guide would summarize changes for the new model year. This year it does not. Other then the GVW upgrade, I didn't see anything that jumped out.

Good point about the order guide, I had not noticed. I heard from my GMC dealer yesterday. Looks like they are taking orders for a very short '09 model year for the Topkick. They will build a few '09 models through the third quarter 2008, and then stop so the tooling can be transferred to an International plant. International is scheduled to start production in Jan. of '09, but they will be 2010 year models. No changes to the trucks are planned.

I thought the F-650/750 come with a Cummins or a Cat engine?, both impressive engines

09's on the lot? I must have missed big change in the launch dates because the information I have infront of me shows the last day of '08 production is 05/30/08 and JOB 1 for the 09's is 06/02/08...

I think those dates are correct for the 250 thru 550 Super Duty's. I am talking about the 650's and 750's, which are built in Mexico by 'Blue Diamond', not Ford.

Interesting link (I just wish the VIN was listed) because the dates I gave are the ones I have listed for the F-650/F-750. I know the difference. Infact '09 Super Duty JOB 1 date was recently changed (pushed out a couple of weeks) and they never had the same dates as the '09 medium duty...

'09 F-650/F-750

03/13/08 - US Order Bank Opens
06/02/08 - JOB 1 Production Begins

'09 Super Duty

06/01/08 (updated from 05/16/08) - US Order Bank Opens
08/04/08 (updated from 07/21/08) - JOB 1 Production Begins

Strange. Has any mention been made about 'Blue Diamond' ending in September of '09? Will there be a 2010 650 or 750?

From everything I have seen/heard the Blue Diamond partnership with Ford and Navistar will end at the end of the '09 model year. There will be a '10 F-650/F-750 with a new partner.
