Ford 650/750 Medium DutiesTechnical discussion of the new Ford Super-Duty 650 and 750 series trucks with Power Stroke, Cummins, or Caterpillar engines.
Getting ready to install a Spicer 6041 4 Speed Auxiliary Transmission in our F-700.
It came with one cross member. it goes at the rear of trans and holds the E-Brake also.
Question: Is there supposed to be something to hold the front of the trans ?
It looks like it might all hang off rear member but it does to look like it will be real steady.
There are no mounting ears on front of trans.
Would a carrier bearing hold it?
Or fab up a collar for nose of input ?
I am Lost and have never seen one installed.
Wow i most have posted in wrong section.
Thanks rwoody. You put that monster in an F-350... Weeeeee.
The one i have weighs about 300# and is nearly as large as the main 5spd trans.
This one came out of an Loadstar twin screw has been rebuilt and should have no trouble living behind my Brazilian Ford diesel.
Wish i could see a pic of a correct install. Or find a truck to look at that has this setup from original. I did not take it out.
