Damn nice truck!

Shorten that wheelbase a bit & put a pickup box on it and you have a fine rig for trips to the mall.

I called the dealership selling the truck, Ford uses an upfitter, like Marmon Herrington, Fabco, etc. to install 4x4 in M/D's. As far as I know, Ford has always had their medium duites available with 4x4 through an upfitter.

I think IH is the only medium duty available with factory installed 4x4

Re: This settles it: F750 is available with 4x4 option

The is not exactly on the subject, but an interesting story: Back in the early to mid 80's, I worked with a geophysical crew that used F-700 4X4's. They had to get bus shocks as the factory shocks were way too small. I was driving one of the trucks loaded with 10,000 pounds of cable from Cut Bank, Montana to Browning (where we were headquartered on the Blackfoot Reservation). About halfway up the long steep hill out of Cut Bank (some of you may know the one), the truck died. As it turns out, it wasn't getting any fuel (was a gas engine). Had to pour gas into the carb to get it going, but what a rough ride!!!!!! They were some really heavy trucks too. We had another one that one of the guys rolled in the same area, later the truck was at the Ford dealer in Cut Bank. The mechanics were trying to move it using a tow rope (not a chain, but a tow rope), the rope broke, and the truck made a new door at the service department!!!!!

Beautiful truck! Being 3 years old and only 3200 miles, I wonder what its been doing? Picking up the luggage from Air Force 1 maybe?

Re: This settles it: F750 is available with 4x4 option

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a "toy" and got too expensive to keep paying for, bank repo, owner fell on hard times, etc. Looks too custom to be a company work rig.

Yeah the old F-700 4x4's were awfully tough trucks. I looked for one for 2-3 years back in the early '80's, and ended up with an IH1700 4x4 instead. The '80's F-700 4x4's were mean lookin machines and tough as nails. Problem is, they were usually way underpowered with 370/429 gassers. A company here in PA called "Henkels & McCoy" has a bunch of them for pipeline & construction work, as does "Asplundh", a big tree company.

Some day I'd love to get ahold of a late model ('97, '98) "F-Series" 4x4 with a 5.9 Cummins & 6 speed. I think it'd make a nice short-haul, under CDL, go anywhere, 10 or 12' dumptruck.
