2013 F350 Coil Spring level kit

If I instal a 2-2 1/2" spacer to level my truck do I need an adjustable track bar or drop bracket? Are there any negatives to these spacers? This truck is going to be a tow queen not an off road truck that needs the high tech springs. Thanks.

You will need Castor shims to regain the lost castor and a adj track bar. never use a drop track bar bracket without a equal dropped Pitman arm you just induce bump steer.

I have never seen a drop pitman arm for less than 4" of lift. From what I have seen the track bars can cost as much or more than the level kit. I installed a level kit on my 03 that utilized a track bar drop bracket and all was good on that truck.

Any idea how much caster is lost with a level kit? Do these trucks require a special shim or will a good alignment shop have what is needed on hand? Any particular kit you would recommend. There are a lot out there. Thanks for the help.

Caster changes about 2 deg. I can't remember if thats positive or negative but I can tell you its the direction that makes the truck prone to wander.

Just order the factory "AA" 7000# springs, replace yours with these (they are about $125 each) and adjust your steering wheel (you can do this yourself in about 10 minutes).

Total project time is about 1 - 2 hours depending on if you've done work like this before and can be done in your garage with heavy duty jack stands and jack.

It will level the front end nicely and you won't have to adjust or replace the bar as it's the same across all models (F250-F550).

This is also a must do upgrade for anyone plowing.

X2
Not to mention it tightens up the front end a little for a better handling truck.

As mentioned above, it will do wonders for the handling of the truck. It makes the front end much more 'stable' during all kinds of driving.

And for those wondering, it does NOT create a rough ride whatsoever!

Thanks for the suggestions.

I believe that would be -negative caster then IIRC from what I learned from searching after caryt's post we want +positive caster.

Would the caster change be the same with a coil insert verses the AA coils? Are these coils the max rating from ? I have air tools and all that jazz. Never messed with these coil trucks yet but I did the suspension on my 03 myself.

I tell ya what, I said above I don't need different coils but now that I have about 165 miles on the truck, I miss my leaf springs. I hit a pot hole, unavoidable in Alaska this time of year, and the truck jumped and shimmied, I thought I would hit my head on the ceiling. My 03 would have just cruised right over it without a hiccup. I think new coils are in this trucks future, which ones I don't know. Probably some steering stabilizers too.

Hooked up my trailer yesterday to measure before and after, front and back heights. Right now stock the trucks sits pretty good, +1/4" in the front and -3/4" in the back but I will have to recheck those measurements when the truck and trailer are at full load weight heading out of town. My guess is with a front level I am going to need air bags.

On edit: been ten years since I looked at spring codes, where do I find the code for my coils? Found it I think SPR: DDLL.

How do you get the axle perfectly centered after install of the adj track bar? Alignment shop or?
