Anyone running 265/70/17's on there 05-up dually???
Needing to replace my tires soon on my 06 dually and wanted to go a bit wider than stock. I don't want to go taller just wider for more of a performance and traction look.
I understand the 265/70/17 tire is not quite rated for a 6.5" wide wheel and the minimum it recommends is a 7" wide.
If anyone has these on there dually please chime or post some photos.
Thanks

I am looking into the same thing. But everyone has their own opinion on what will work and what won't, without any other mods. Not saying that they're wrong, search google- I've found many posts about this on lots of forums. But it is hard to find ones about duallys. Keep in mind that if you want to install spacers on the duals they sometimes will cause rocks to really smack your truck. Depends on if you want to keep a decent paint job! I'm about to put on some 265/75/16's on my truck (Goodyear Wranglers, Nitto Terra Grapplers or Toyo Open Country ATs- haven't decided yet), as my buddy said that was the biggest he could fit on his 07 350 without having to install spacers (He has BFG AT's). I'm also adding a 2" leveling kit this week before I get my tires. I'll get some pics when it's done. Hope this helps.

Thanks DuallyGirl, and let me know how it turns out.

How did it go buying bigger tires did the 265/70/17E work on your stock rims
I am looking for new tires on my 06 dually as well
is there anybody out there who knows what the biggest tire you can put on a stock rim without spacers
I seen BFG is making a mud terrain in a 255/80/17 that will work nice for us DRW owners who tend to get out in the gunk once and a while and need the extra traction. They are about 2" taller and the same width as the factory ones.

I have yet to get the 265's yet but when I do I'll post up some pictures.
The 255/80's are great, just wish it wasn't so much of a mud tire and more of an A/T due to I do more road....and off-road in my 4x4 dually.
.....plus I'm having a hard time finding the 255/80's even being available...or even a price worth looking @ ($250+ each is too much for 6 factory +/- tires)

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE MICHELINS BUT I WANTED A MORE AGGRESSIVE LOOK. just bought used 2005 f350 drw 4wd. it has 265/70/17 on the rear. not much space between the tires. wonder what will happen once i put weight on it. front has 235/80/17. almost to wear bars now. I want to replace all with 265/70/17 but worry about rubbing on the rear, though they seem to be working fine. anyone else have 265s?
Yes i'm runnin 265 70 17 on my 06 dually the tires are the goodyear silent armors they are 1/2" wider than the stock they fit fine on the rims. However the front tires are cupping really bad and this started after 8000 miles on them all goodyear would do is give me 1/2 the price for the tire. I took my truck to 3 different places as well as good year and they found nothing wrong with the front end of my truck. The stock tires did not cup at all they didnt wear for **** but they never cupped and they were 1/2 the price. I dont think the wider tire had anything to do with the cupping. I have had several people tell me certain tires just dont do well on certian vehichles. the tires look good and when i have a load on it doesnt effect the spacing between the back tires. These goodyears were 295.00 each my advice is to go with a cheaper tire. I do not think i'm going to get twice the wear out of these goodyears. since its not cost effective to rotate the tires on a dually. If i had it to do over again i would have bought the bf goodrich rugged trails but bigger and keep replacing the fronts when they wear out. you can get two of those for the price of one good year.
Thanks for all the info!!! I ended up going the conservative route and getting BFGs Rugged Trail LT245/75/17. Got a pretty good President's Day deal from Discount Tires $137/tire. Thanks again!
