I have an '87 F-350 with a Dana 60 front axle. Not to long ago, whenever I make a slight turn to the right and hit a bump, my truck begins to wobble uncontrollably to the point that I must stop. I looked at the axle, and it would seem that the bushings on my trac bar have rotted away. How difficult would it be to change those? It seems rather easy, just unbolt the trac bar and put the new bushings on. Is that all that needs to be done, or is there a specific method to do it?
I would do a search in the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI diesel forums for DEATH WOBBLE, this is not an uncommon problem that has been discussed in some detail in the forums.

CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE!!!!!!! both must be the same or it gets bad. My 2008 was off by 3 or 4 pounds left to right and it was extremely noticable.

I just spent $600 fixing this issue on my 2006 350 Dually 4x4. Put it on the rack and everything seemed to be just fine. We thought it was in my steering column somewhere. Turns out that the National Highway Safety Assoc, or whatever they're called, has had over 200+ complaints about this. Their Investigations Dept has looked into all of them and ruled that no recall would be made which I think is total BS. Many people have this happen because they keep the wrong psi in their tires, or only experience it over 55 mph. Mine did it ALL the time. Bumps, curves you name it. At any speed. Got so fed up with the guessing game I caved and took it to the dealer I bought it from. They replaced steering stabilizer and drag link. Seems to be fine now. I am so irritated since it was something I could have fixed (for MUCH cheaper). Just be aware that even though these parts look to be in perfect condition sometimes they are not.
