The all-new Trail Grappler™ M/T blends some of the off-road performance of the Mud Grappler™ with the on-road comfort of the Terra Grappler™ to create a tire that is both aggressive and quiet. For off-road performance, the sidewall combines a 3-ply high turn-up construction with a thick rubber compound that cushions the tire and helps prevent punctures. On the tread surface, the blocks are configured to provide additional biting edges that command lateral stability and enhance forward traction. For on-road comfort, Nitto's engineers used advanced sound analysis equipment to reduce the noise levels commonly associated with off-road tires. The internal construction and tread design also help optimize treadlife. Two wide steel belts provide a stable base for the tire and increase tread strength. This advanced construction provides optimal uniformity and reduces irregular wear.
Nitto promises the Trail Grappler MT will be the next best thing to hit the Grappler line up. For those of you who love the Terra Grappler but want a little more bite and off-road performance without stepping up to the Mud Grappler, this tire is for you. Nitto manufactures their Grapplers with the most up to date manufacturing technologies. Nitto uses segmented molds that fit together like puzzle pieces, and continuous wound steel belting. These two manufacturing processes alone make a huge difference when it comes to balancing. They also help to dramatically reduce the tires chance for tread separation. Add to these, Nitto's highly sophisticated rubber compounds and the fact that Nitto builds 90% of their Grapplers in the USA and you have a winning combination.

I notice they are not made in the OEM size 275/70-18. What are my alternatives? I want to keep them on my OEM wheels (I have the polished Aluminum with the larger holes).

The Trail Grappler in sizes 285/65-18 and 295/70-18 are approved for your factory wheels. The 285's will be a tad shorter than the stock size and the 295's will be about 1.25" taller than your stock size. The 295's might rub at full turn and a stress may but this can be easily fixed with some trimming

Remember that 1.25 " only = 5/8" when your checking for interferance issues.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your help with the sizing. I really like the new NITTOs, going to get me a set after Christmas, they will look sharp and more importantly, give me the traction I am looking for on and off road.
Does anyone have any idea on how long these tires will last in comparison to the Toyo Open Country MT's? I ran a set of the Toyo Tires for about 60K miles without any problems... but these are about $100/ tires.
So anyone have any feedback on these? The pictures look sick! I have 20" KMC's on my 2003. Currently running Nitto Terra Grapplers that I'm thrilled with, but would like the look of something a little more aggressive. I do a lot of highway driving, so if they are loud or vibrate a lot, I'm not buying.

I just installed a set on monday, 285/65R18. I replace the stock Continetal tires. The tires look great! I do notice a little more vibration and noise over stock, but I think that's to be expected. On the highway @ 70mph just a slight howl, no vibration. We will be traveling for Chistmas this weekend, curious to see if the wife notices any increase in noise/vibration. I'lll report back.

One of the guys here at my office installed a set of Trail Grapplers on his Duramax and towed with them a few weeks ago. He said he was very pleased with them, that they tracked "straight as an arrow" and there was no squirm what so ever. He currently has about 1000 miles on them. I'd share some pictures of them on his truck but its a Chevy so if you want to see them PM me and I'll give you a link.
