Rough Country leveling kit installed!

Well, I just picked up my truck from BigTime 4x4 here in Abq. I had them install the Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit I purchased from Top Gun Customz. The kit came with new Rough Country leaf springs, track bar, 4 Rough Country Nitro shocks, and all hardware. The sale, price and shipping were flawless from Top Gun Customz and their opinion and recommendation of the kit was spot on! Great job guys and thank you!

Now to the kit... I had heard mixed reviews on Rough Country, even by BigTime 4x4 who was installing it. Top Gun had told me that the springs were a newer design and that they had came a long way towards making a top notch kit. Well, I'm not sure how the old kits were but this one IS "Top Notch"! After installing the shop told me they were surprised at how well the components fit and of there finish... They were now sold that Rough Country was making a much better product than they had in the past...

Test drive time... When I had taken the truck in I had asked that they give the front end a once over due to a wandering condition that existed and had gotten a little worse recently when I went from a 235 to a taller 255 tire. The wandering was mostly noticeable when out on the interstates when you are around the semi ruts. The truck would really wander around in these.

When I picked up the truck I asked if they had found any front end components worn or bad? They said everything look great but the track bar bushings were really shot... Not to worry though because the new track bar came with new bushings and the truck drove straight as an arrow... They were right! No more wandering at all! It drives like a new truck! And I am very, very pleased with the kit and with the install job by BigTime 4x4 here in Abq..

The springs are firmer giving the truck better handling without a bouncy or sharp ride. No more wollowing in corners. The nitro shocks work great and give about the same feedback over rippled road as the stock Rancho units did. Which in my mind is very good. The only thing negative that I can feed back is a slight cavatation when coming to a stop. Just three or four small bounces of the front end then she settles. Not much to complain about really and not really objectionable at all but it is there?

How do I like the kit? I love it! Great fit, finish, ride, and looks!

One question to all the lift experts out there though.... The kit said it was a 2.5" and looks a little taller? Maybe closer to 3"? Will the kit settle some and come down a half inch? If not and I want the rear up just a tad what is the down side of going to a 5" block from the original 4"? I want to keep the over load springs if I can...... Thanks all
