Just checking to see if you guy's have used these tires and what did you think of them. Goodyear Wrangler silent armor in size 235/85r16. Going on the truck in my sig. I recently had a bad experiance with the Michelin tires, and thinking about using something else. Right front tire came apart at 75 mph putting a 6 inch tear in the fender, ripped out the inner fender liner, and bent the front bumper. Tires are less than 3 years old and have over 50% tread left so did not expect anything. Any comments are welcome.

My experience with Goodyear tires was about 20 years ago. They were goodyear eagles , all season , on a 4x4 jeep cherokee. I got about 20k miles out of them. mostly hwy miles. Never have bought a goodyear since. Been using Michelens & B F Goodriches ever since. Ford4me2 I have a set of Michelen 235/85-16s that are approx 2 yrs old with 32k miles on them 50% tread left and are weather checking, sidewalls mostly but some in the tread. Were your michelens doing the same ?

I have run the goodyear prograde silent armor on my 97 f250. I sold the truck before they wore out but they stuck to the snow like glue. If you are willing to spend the money I would buy them. I am due for rubber on my 2000 f350 and I think I will buy them again. They had some issues a few years ago but redesigned them so I was told. expect to pay over 200 ea. Again I would recommend them to anyone who has to drive in the snow. You will almost think you have tire chains. just my 2 cents.

on my 2nd set of firestone transforce. these are considered the workhorse of the f250's down here in la. 1st set on 01 f250 has 40k and still 20k easy left, and 2nd set on 99 7.3psd mounted 3 weeks ago....verdict is still out.
For the money, these tires have offered me even wear(i fotate every 6k) low noise, and comfortable ride. nothing but good things to say bout these rubbers.
Just ordered a set of LT 265 75 16 E and having them put on this afternoon. I will let you know what I think. I had a set on my 97 and I loved them. Paying a couple bucks more than discount tire rack price but I like the shop I go to and they rotate for free plus I have other work done there. Makes it easyer for me to get rotation on the reccomended basis. I know rotating tires is key to longitivity as id maintaining proper tire pressure. It iss still snowing here so it will be a good test of their capabilities. for the 800+ bucks I am spending I hope I am impressed as I was with the last set.

Ok have the new tires on for a few days now. I have not had to use my 4 wheel drive since getting the wrangler progrades put on. We have gotten quite a bit of snow here in Ohio and I live in the snow belt. My old laredos I had to lock 4 wheel in to pull in my drive. They cost me about 210 each mounted and balanced at the local tire shop I have been using for many years now. Like many shops lifetime rotation and balancing is included so that is nice and I know everyone that works there. Yesterday I had to go look at a property that had about 16" of snow in the driveway and I had little problem pulling in. I did get impatient and locked in 4 wheel to turn around and get out. In 2 wheel the back tired were hopping if I hit the accelerator to much. Hope they last the 50k warranty. To give you an idea of how heavy my truck is most of the time I run the Ohio turnpike I am class 2 which is over 7000 lbs and that is just with my toolboxes.
