Tire temperature
Question for all you tire gurus. My fifth wheel has ST215/17.5 tires rated at 4850 pounds at 125 psi on 8000 lb axles. I keep them at 115 pounds (according to the Goodyear tire inflation chart that equates to 4490 pounds carrying capacity) for a slightly softer ride. According to my infra-red temperature gauge they are at 82 degrees cold at 115 psi. After an hour of driving on the interstate at a steady 60 mph the temperature goes up to 120-125 degrees. If one side has also been in the sun while traveling that sides tires will read in the low 130's. Is this an acceptable temperature range?
Thanks, Jim
