No. Big difference in offset/inset between '99-'04 and '05-up wheels. So for your Y2K, look for rims from '99-'04, but not '05-up

Spacers

Be careful when buyin your spacers though... The best deal isn't always "the best deal" Cheaper made spacers can put more strain in areas that don't need it.... I was told to always look towards steel spacers for better quality

I have a similar question.... I have an '05 F-250 with the 17" alloys and I recently bought a set of 20" alloys off of an '08 F-250. I know the bolt pattern is the same, but I'm just looking to make sure the 20" rims will fit my '05 based on backspacing and such... Anyone have any input?? Thanks.

Not sure on fitment of anything, but as for spacers, look up wheeladapter.com. Fred, fearless Fred Goeske is the guy that runs it and his spacers are good quality. I've been running a 2" spacer on the front of my truck for probably 30-50,000 miles with no issues. And like Jake said, you definitely get what you pay for and this is something you do NOT want to go cheap on.

Yep, any '05-up Ford stock rim will fit your '05 just fine. The problem is folks with '99-'04 SuperDuties wanting to trade up to '05 or later takeoffs. No can do.

Spacers are killers, as well as being wheel bearing killers. I wouldn't want them on my truck. For the price of the wheels plus $400 for quality spacers, you could buy new wheels that fit right without spacers.

My situation is a little different as I've got the 22.5" super singles on my truck and without running the spacers the wheels were in too far, just like would happen if I tried to use the newer rims. Using the spacers put the wheels back where the bearings thought the tires should have been so the physics are the same as stock. Same with the newer rims on older trucks. The spacers, while they do put more studs and places for problems to creep up, what they do is put the location of the tire back where it was originally designed to be. This means the bearings don't know any different. By doing the opposite, and trying to run a '01 rim on a newer truck, the tires would stick out too far there would be forces on the bearings they aren't used to.

The use of spacers to relocate the tire back to it's stock position will have no effect on the bearings at all. What it could add is the addition of forces through the rim and spacer on that hub-centric surface and through the lugs. This issue for many is enough to keep them from running spacers. For many others that have been running spacers with no ill effects, me included, we have found that even after my own constant inspections there are no ill effects showing up.
