Re: 2002 Order Guides

Wow!
So is there any word on when these will be available? I'm looking into getting an X sometime in August, The financing that they have now is very very tempting, but the new features are also tempting. My wife was skeptical about getting such a big beast as the X, but now that they offer 2nd row bucket seats, I think I'll finally have her convinced!

Re: 2002 Order Guides

I think I jumped too fast. I just took possession on a 2001 X. I wonder if I can get the Homelink and the memory seats added to mine!

Re: 2002 Order Guides

Homelink is a programmable device you can program your garage door opener, controls for lights in and outside the house, entry gates things like that.

Now when they start putting in a moonroof, that is when I will upgrade to a new one!!

Re: 2002 Order Guides

The only disadvantage to the homelink transmitter is they are useless on the new Genie Intellicode Garage door openers. Tried it on mine and did not work. Then went and tried on a friends older Genie opener just to make sure it wasn't me having an i d 10 t error, and it worked fine on his. Just my $0.02........ Kevin

Re: 2002 Order Guides

I could go for the stereo controls on the steering wheel.

What I'd really like is to have the steering wheel telescope out. When I put the seat all the way back, the steering wheel is across the room. It's ridiculous.

Hmmm, that's odd. I bought my wife an 01 Sequoia, it has Homelink, and it works with our new Genie Intellicode opener. There was a special programming sequence to follow in the Toyota owner's manual for the Intellicode.

Maybe all Homelink systems are not alike?

Re: 2002 Order Guides

None of that sissy crap Ford will offer in 2002 matters to me except the power passenger seat. Like I need stereo buttons on my steering wheel, autolocks, and "crystalline headlights" - fer Crissakes.

All that fussy crap is why nobody buys new cars but chicks and geezers. The're built for chicks and fags. I'm 6"6' 250 and don't need adjustable pedals.

Wise up, Ford. Give us an lifted offroad package with better shocks, more travel, firmer springs, and locking differentials. Give us more power so we don't have to add Banks or HyperTech stuff. Give us more than 4 speeds in the auto trans, like GM does. Give us headrests and shoulder belts for every seating position, like Toyota does. Give us real bumpers instead of those puny chrome and plastic jokes. Give us a strong handle to get in and out of the drivers seat. Give us head lights that illuminate the road better, not just look better. Give us a switch to turn off the passenger airbag so my kids can ride up front with me.

Then maybe I'll get interested in an 02 X.

Re: 2002 Order Guides

I am with you Reno!!!

I do like the idea of Captain Chairs.

Where did they find the extra power? Through the computer I would assume!!
