Question 285/75R16 Do they fit or rub ?

Ok, I have read every thread I could find. Looks like about 25% say they rub on a stock excursion and 75% say they are fine. The 285 I am looking at has a section width of 11.47 and an overall diameter of 32.6
I have just over 100k on it so assuming the stock springs havent sagged a ton....Will they fit or not ?

I run 285x75x16's but I have X codes up front which gives me a height of 40 1/2 "at the front wheel well dead center of axle with truck on level ground. I get a small rub ONLY in full lock backing out of my steep driveway to level street. Its only for a second and I can't figure out where its rubbing but I'm not worried about it either and its only done it in reverse and not all the time.

I've run 285 75/16 tires since the truck had 12,000 miles on it with stock suspension. I just recently upgraded the springs on the truck. With new BFG A/T's the tire would slightly rub the spring on both sides with the steering all the way to lock. This was with stock wheels. Since I changed to aftermarket wheels the rub went away.

I have Michelin 285/75/16 E LTX AT2 tires and the only issue I had was a slight rub on the ford mud flaps and a tiny bit on the drivers side fender liner. I fixed it with a heat gun, I heated the liner and massaged it with a hammer. all fixed.

See my sig. I have them on my X and 350. They rub now and then on my X when jumping a curb. But not enough to be concerned about. I am very happy with them.

Congrats!!! I plan to swap in "X" springs and F350 blocks on mine this weekend and then hopefully before the end of the year I can put some new tires/wheels on it. Since 285/75r16 fit yours on stock springs I may try for some 285/75r17s.

Boomboom, you have 40 1/2" measuring from the center of the front hub to the edge of the fender in front? I think my front end is stock, but I only measure 22". Your over 18" taller than stock?

I bought my truck used, I assume its stock, maybe I'll post some pics of it and the front spriings and you guys can tell me.

Been running 295's on both the F250 and Excursion for quite a while with no issues.

What I found odd though is slight rubbing when I got new rims and Ravo 265's. The rims must be wider than the other aftermarket set or the GARBAGE Ravo's are wider. Good thing I got the four rims/tire, lug nuts, and center caps for $200. They combo had 200 miles on them.

My next mod may be X springs and air bags for the X. Finaly did the Helwig and it sure was worth the money.

Sorry I meant measuring from the ground up to the wheel well with the tape passing by the center of the hub
