4x4 not engaging

When I switch into 4x4 high or 4x4 low the dash indicator lights don't come on and the X doesn't go into 4x4. I checked the fuse and it was good. I have tried engaging with X in neutral with foot on brake, nothing seems to work.

Re: 4x4 not engaging

I've never had an issue with mine so I'm not much help. Suggest you post up top in the appropriate Engine and Drivetrain section.

When you turn on your air conditioning does it blow out only the defrost vents?

Re: 4x4 not engaging

I just noticed the same problem with mine and the cheap 4X4 knob on the dash was broken inside!!
The only way I noticed it is that it was pretty loose and I pulled it off and saw the clip was loose and the plastic was broken.
I plan to buy a new one tomorrow and if it breaks I'll just have to fab one from wood or something!!

Re: 4x4 not engaging

The drive train section is the place to be. There are a lot of vacuum issues to deal with and test to see what your problem is. They have been discussed here, you could probably find them with a quick search.
Good Luck.
