6.0 or 7.3

Been looking to replace my wife's SUV and have decided to go with an X. Now I just need to decide whether to go with a 7.3 or a 6.0. There is still a good selection of 2003's left in the San Antonio area. One advantage is there is an additional $2000 rebate on non-6.0 X's (Now if they would only offer the 0% for 72 months like the Expedition--what more could one ask). Sounds like the 6.0 is a good powerplant (depending on when it was built). And the rest of the X appears to be solid. If you had to do all over again would you have gone with the 7.3 or the 6.0? Re: 6.0 or 7.3

No choice there at all, go for the 6.0L. Great engine and the 5 speed auto is most likey the best tranny detroit has ever put into a medium duty truck.

My wife likes the 6.0/5 speed more than the 7.3/4 speed .

Re: 6.0 or 7.3

Hi, I have a 2004 6.0 Ex and have no problems so far with just over 1,100 miles. I know that is not many miles but plan to put alot more on it.As of right now I would go for the 6.0 and the 5spd auto is very nice.Good Luck. Davis

Re: 6.0 or 7.3

I had a 2000 7.3 and now have a 2003 6.0 both autos. The 6.0 setup is far superior when running correct. Hold out for a while until the 2004s have been out a while. I wish I had, more than I care to explain. If you have any doubts hang out in the 6.0 forum.
