6.0L Excursion at the Dealer! - Diesel Forum

I had a build date of 12/9 and we just got a call saying that the 6.0L Excursion arrived at the dealership today (12/17)! I am in shock! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] I thought it would have been much longer with all this talk of delays, etc.

We will need a few days to get our money together but otherwise we will have more news soon.

Where are you located? My build week was also 12/9 and I'm just waiting for it to get here to Virginia Beach. Dealer said it should be towards the end of the week. So...have you driven it yet? Tell us about it...what options did you get? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]

The dealer is in Conroe, TX. The only options I have are the DVD player, dark green. HAve not driven it. Will try to go by tomorrow.

Conroe, TX is a he!! of a lot farther away from the plant than Virginia Beach, VA. I guess it's time for me to bug my dealer again ...is it here yet? ...how about now? ...is it almost here? ...what's the latest? ...I thought I saw a car carrier pull into the dealership...was my X on it? By now, I know he just wants to get me my X so he won't have to deal with me anymore. After that, I'll be the service department's problem. I have been lurking for a few weeks. I also have a VW Jetta diesel. The Durango is for sale now.

Wondering how many 03 6.0L Excursions are out there. The dealer said he was a bit suprised, but said that it was just like Ford to do the unexpected... I'm not sure what he meant.

Does anyone know if they would let anyone drive my X as a demo? I told him no way could anyone drive it and he said he would lock the keys up in his office. I need to go get that truck befor anything strange happens.

I know what you mean about not wanting your X used for test drives. All you have to do is read a few threads under the "ordering information" forum or "6.0L Diesel Engine and 5R110W Transmission" forum to see that people don't respect the break-in period on TEST DRIVES. I'm not planning on abusing my X, so I definitely DON'T want anybody else doing it before I take delivery. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] My dealer assured me that my X wouldn't be used for test drives before I take delivery. I assured him, I'm ready to take delivery the SECOND it gets here! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] I hope you enjoy your X, ...let us know!
