7.3l Excursion Shut down!

So there I was... Driving up to Redding Ca to drop my rig off at Roverhybrids for my Vegistroke conversion. Crusing at about 70mph, no tow about 5psi on the boost gauge... All of a sudden SES comes on, and truck shuts down! No odd noises, no high temps, no nothing except the SES light, I coast to the shoulder and curse my luck. I turn the key off, say a short prayer, and truck starts back up like a champ, no SES light or anything out of the norm. Was I hit by asshole aliens with a EMP beam? what gives? Anyone else have this issue? Don't know if this matters, but I have had my CPS changed, but this was a month ago and nothing like this has happened before. Thanks for the help

Greasy

Just went through this for the last 2 months and it ended up being a chip from DP tunes causing it! Good think I told the Ford thief about the chip or they would have milked me for more $$$$

wow. I don't have a chip in it yet, and after hearing that I might not put one in... I was looking at the DP tuner too... The only mod done to the motor is 4" exchaust, and aFe Stage 2 intake. I Was driving it to have my vegistroke kit installed.

Still sound like a CPS to me

Is the new one a black one or a grey one?

I think the grey ones are the new ones
Some 7.3 owners would know better,

My 7.3 did the exact same thing just no SES light.

New CPS and did not have any trouble fro 70 to 110K when I sold it

Did you call and talk to Jody???? It's a mechanical thing and all mechanical things can and do fubar, Jody's tunes are no different. I'm sure he will or did make things right?? I have had my Jody tune for 60k or so without any problems and I too had a bad CPS, changed it with a new black one and haven't had any further problems. I do keep two spares in the glove box. One for me and one for someone stranded and in need.
