72,000 Miles and First Brake Job

I went 72K, ate a front rotor on the inside but the rear pads were still good, there are no squellers on the OEM pads to warn you. I replaced all the rotors with NAPA premium and used a pad a garage recomended, it is a something "quiet", I can't remember but this thing stops great now. I never warped a rotor, even with panic stops with 10,000 lbs. I was very happy with the wear and mileage I got out of this set of brakes but I did not know what I was missing now that I have new ones.

Now thats good, I think all the towing took some life out of them.

Re: 72,000 Miles and First Brake Job

I made it to 128,000 before the front pads started squeeking. Had them replaced and turned the front rotors. Didn't need to touch the rears at all.

Never had any brake pull or pulsating. Always stopped true and straight and solid.

Most of my driving is open highway, some towing, some mountains.

Re: 72,000 Miles and First Brake Job

We made it to right at 100,000 miles. I guess that means the previous owner didn't tow much

Re: 72,000 Miles and First Brake Job

Man, I thought I was doing well from what I read here. At least it drove straight, the rotors were true and it was quiet. These new ones do stop 100% better though.
