Re: adjustable pedals

They were an option ...
I think they came stock on the "Limited Ultimate" which is what I had...

Re: adjustable pedals

In '02, the "Ultimate" package included monotone paint and the tutone leather seats (like are in the '03-'04 EB) so they are easy to spot.

Re: adjustable pedals

In 03 they stopped the two tone seats but kept the momo paint. I have the pedals and instead of moving my foot I use the button....I am very lazy. Just kidding, my wife uses the truck sometimes and with the memory seat and pedals we use them a lot. It is nice to be able to push a button to bring the seat exactly to my spot.

Re: adjustable pedals

I'm a little late to posting but our 2002 XLT Premium has the adjustables and in fact the dealer replaced the accelerator assembly this morning due to the recall on the pedal assembly

Not a whole lot of fun when the "Go" pedal doesn't go when you're at a traffic light in a turn lane

Re: adjustable pedals

You won't unless you run the VIN through the Ford computer OASIS.

Re: adjustable pedals

To be 100% positive if your X has the pedal TSB run the truck by a Ford Dealer give them your VIN and they'll run an oasis I'll assume is the system and that'll tell you if your X is eligible for the recall along with any work that has been done by Ford, the build date and the day it went into service with miles.

Re: adjustable pedals

Say you pull up to a traffic light in the left turn lane waiting for the left green to illuminate, the light turns green your first re-action is to press the accelerator, you do that and there's zero response from the pedal and in the panic as everyone is blowing their horns you throw the tranny into park then back to drive hit the accelerator then the truck goes, that's the pedal sensor recall

Happened to us about a dozen times over the last 2 weeks, the wife had enough of it Monday afternoon and in the dealer it went Tuesday morning first thing.

The check engine light may come on prior to the sensor malfunction then it may not, our's did illuminate. But I cleared the code and the SCMT signature over night by disconnecting the batteries but it may not work for everyone though.
