Just got home with it 2001 4x4 7.3 and plan on pulling our 31.5 Cedar Creek 31rbs trailer, 7600 lbs. Any gotcha's to be aware of. After finding this site, I know ya'll have got the knowledge. That's not hard for a convert to say, so be gentle [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] Thanks

Welcome to the world of the Ford SD!
Immediately, if not sooner, do a search of the archives re: transmission coolers, filters, Banks Transcommand, Sonnax, synthetic oil, oil temp guages, etc.

Morin' tedc and welcome to the forum. I think you will enjou it and learn a lot about your new tank, also enjoy the diferent sections on the site.

One of the first things you need to do is take the Ford better ideas;( off of your baby. The cross bars on the luggage rack on top will rub your paint off. For some strange reason Ford has them resting on the top [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img], dumb.

Check the suspension topics in this section and also in the archives in the X section. You are more than likely going to want to upgrade it with different shocks and add a rear sway bar.The least Ford coul do is offer a heavier duty suspension package for our beasts. [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

Now you have some thing else tod and that is get that thing onthe road and get it dirty so you can learn the joys of washing this monster [img]images/icons/laugh.gif[/img] !!! Ohps I alnost forgot it will take about two months to get that ear to ear BIG GRIN off your face [img]images/icons/laugh.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/laugh.gif[/img] .
