Has anyone used after market springs (Pro Comp or Ranchco for example) to improve the ride on the X, instead of Ford Springs??

You can order any code Spring you want from a dealer have them in a few days with no shipping.
Cost with a bit of a discount should be about $130 to $140 each front or rear.
Now shure what the aftermarkets cost but I don't think it would be a lot less.

Yes, I did, I bought a 2630 lbs (each) pack from a local spring shop. My understanding was that the "v" code springs are 2600 lbs so I just picked mine up at spring shop to match capacity from "v" codes. Cost me about 380.00 for springs and new ubolts and nuts. Hope this helps.

Really, I shopped 3 spring shops and Boyer Ford in the Twin Cities, the spring shop was 30 bucks cheaper. Let me know where I could have gotten them cheaper!

I think you mis read my post, it was 380 out the door for springs, all of them, two set's! Ford wanted 178.00 per set, I paid 158.00 per set!
