Allowed Wife to Drive My X

Fellow X owners,
I used to be a GMC man, but; somehow I have wound up with 3 Fords. I have a 1979 F-250 and a 2001 PS-X, while my wife has a 1998 Expedition. Each and every Ford I have ever owned has been nearly impossible to work on. Seems like the boys at Ford have no quams about saving themselves $0.05 during construction even if it costs the owner $100 after the warrenty runs out. But I regress......my wife's Expedition died last Friday afternoon at the gas station. I think the starter is shot. I took one look at the starter and banged the solinoid just in case and had her call AAA to have the thing towed to the local repair shop. The thing is still there and wifey has been driving "MY X" for the past few days and I'm overcome with fear and loathing about what she is doing to "MY X." She reports the X drives like her Expedition only it's bumpier, slower and harder to park. I saw at least one new nick on the door and who knows what else she's done. Can anyone feel my pain??

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

You married her.
I never let my (now ex) husband drive my Truck. His cars were always banged up. He once drove away from a gas pump with the nozzle still in the tank of his car. Some people just aren't "Ford Worthy"
Turned out, he wasn't "Me Worthy" either.

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

My wife drives the family X all the time but she's also racked up a number of door edge dings and minor scratches.

She has no problem parking/operating in traffic but has a problem with the lead foot

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

The Excursion has always been my Wifes Rig. It has some dings in it, but nothing her fault, she really takes care of it, (Kids are another story).

I have to admit, I do get a little Skitzy when she drives mine though.

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

I'm with you..

But on a number of occasions my wife requests the land yaght for her and all of her friends to go out.

My poor baby always has to put up with my lectures and all the other crap we give our women(or men) about our second love(the EXcursion). But she does good.

Still get nervous though. Heck I wrecked her brand new truck(but I won't go into that)

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

Hey ATST, want to go out? We could have 2 Xs (and ex's) Where in MI are you, I am in Holland near the State Park. You sound cool. Whats it going to take to have dinner some time. If you like boats we can run to Grand Haven for dinner. Let me know.

Re: Allowed Wife to Drive My X

Yeh, she has a big truck and seems cool, so what is it? I used to get in arguments with the Ex over waiting to start and not punching it until it warms up. That and parking close..just walk. Man, that was like talking to the wall, when she drove it I was sick the entire time, I just knew it was going to be treated like a red headed step child. I would rather buy her her own than drive mine. Now I would let ATST drive it but she has her own
