My kids tell me they don’t think I’ll ever grow up. Damn I hope not, I plan staying a kid forever.
I waited a couple of weeks after the 9/29 date to make sure the 04 6L was in fact being installed. I also wanted verification they were actually in dealers hands prior to my second order. Declined my first ordered X. (04 with 03 6L)

Conga, I feel your pain! People have been asking for weeks about the updated 6.0. Now you finally have one of the first, posted a couple of times letting people know and..............no ones asking! So Ill ask the first. Any noticable turbo lag?
OK How does it compair to the 03 6L. Don't leave any thing out!

Just seeems that all I can find are the '04s with '03s.
I'm going to get a replacement for my "totaled" X but I'm waiting
to find the '04 engine.
What color is the Navistar label on the Pass. valve cover??
Thanks...
Blake

There doens't seem to be much lag, though it is slightly noticeable (but you have to be looking ffor it). If I remember correctly, the 03 I drove many moons ago was a little more sluggish off idle.
It is really surprising how quick this engine/tranny combo is in a 6000lb+ vehicle. And speaking of the tranny, one word, magical.

I wish I had an answer for you, but my 03 seat time was limited to a test drive of 10 minutes, a long time ago. I can tell you my wife loves the vehicle, its our first diesel.
