So, now that I've taken all this cladding off, and installed BFG 285/75/16's, the wheels are quite a bit wider than the wheel wells. So, I'm considering flares of some kind.
Any ideas??? Or better yet, any pictures, with these tires, and flares???

Find a post by IMDOK and email him. He has a white XLT. The last time we communicated he was planning to purchase Bushwacker Street Flares for his X. He has posted pics before on this forum; maybe he could help you out.
I'd like to see what they look like also. I have considered adding them, but haven't found on of those 'round-to-its'!
Try to get a hold of Sulltran on this site. He has a black Superduty with some very nice looking flares.
There is a movie of his truck on Bjornar's website. The movie was to show you how loud the EBPV is but it also gives a great shot of his front flares. I don't think he added flares in the rear because his truck was originally a dually.
OK OK
I'll take some more pictures just to satisfy your curiosity......Jeeze, the things we do for fellow X owners (it's -10 here)
I was originally going to paint the Bushwacker "street" flares Oxford White to match the body but thought I'd have a little fun with a number of friends that own the Utility White w/ Black flare Suburbans. So I left them with the factory black look. They look pretty good on the X, I think so any way. I just took them out of the box and slapped 'em on. Very easy install.
I might have gone with painted white flares were it not for the flare's panel protector being black. It would be seen(not much, but enough to bother me) between the painted white flare and the white body panel. So I just left it the way it came. I may change it someday but for now it works. Not quite as classy looking as all white would be but definitely gives it a more rugged "truck" look. The flares added just enough width to cover the additional extented profile of the 285/75/16s. I'm still debating on which mud flaps. I'm hoping the molded ones will fit over the flare and I'll just use longer screws and bolts. We'll see. www.bushwacker.com

After mounting those 285/75/16's, on 16x8 wheels, I'd be surprised if mudflaps will work---at least in the front---I'm sure they'll rub----waddya think, IMDOK???
Rubbing with 285s? Mine don't rub at all; not even close. In addition, fender flares on tires as small as the the 285s looks goofy to me. Just my opinion.
I've got some shots of the 285s without flares; check the sig.
**********IN EDIT**********
Perhaps I should remind myself that I'm in the Excursion forum. I would think the sheet metal would be the same, but I could be wrong. Anyway, never seen an Ex with flares before - I'd be interested in some pics out of curiousity...
