Anybody buy Hellwig Sway Bars from JC Whitney?

Has anybody purchased the front and rear Hellwig anti-sway bars from JC Whitney? I called them this evening to order both bars, but the girl I spoke with could not confirm the Hellwig part number. After searching through this forum, the Hellwig part numbers for the 4x4 Excursion are; Front-#7640 and Rear-#7643. The girl said the "vendor" number was something like.....H5641. Needless to say, I did not order them from JC Whitney. They have a good price on them($134 each and free shipping with orders over $200), but I'm not paying it until I know for sure that I'm geting what I want. Also called Shox.com and they want $155 each. Plus shipping. Their website says they'll beat the competition, but the guy I spoke with seemed like it was too much hassle for him call and check on the price. This as he was yawning while I was talking to him on the phone. Not impressed with Shox.com

Any help you might have would be great.

Thanks, Toolman

Toolman you might look at www.jcwhitney.com

You may also call their Special Order Service 800-571-5050 between 8AM and 6 PM Monday through Friday and tell them about your problem that you had with the regular order service and they may be able to help you.

Take care and good luck,

Re: Anybody buy Hellwig Sway Bars from JC Whitney?

After doing some additional detective work last night, I stumbled upon Summit Racing They have the bar for $129 plus $6 for handling and free UPS ground shipping. I went ahead and ordered the rear bar from them (Front bar was on back order). Will let you all know if I have a good experience with them. Their online ordering process was a snap.

Regards, Toolman

Re: Anybody buy Hellwig Sway Bars from JC Whitney?

I ordered my rear from them without any problems. They had a listing for the 2000 but not for the 2001. There is no difference. They do not carry the front or did't at the time I ordered mine.

Re: Anybody buy Hellwig Sway Bars from JC Whitney?

If anyone wants to order the Hellwig's rear sway bar for a 4x4 Excursion, give Cathy a call at 815-667-7865. She works for J.C. Whitney in their special orders department. Her work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, Central Standard time. She does have a direct line although, her voice is not on the voicemail. If you get the voicemail, please leave me her a message and she is good about returning messages. The Hellwing part number for this part is 7643 and I paid about $125. Shipping time was about a week. Cathy was a very nice and helpful person to deal with.

Hope this helps,
John
