Anybody in snow country got the PowerStep?

I just found out that the 'X' doesn't fit in the garage, so it will sit out until I get a chance to put in larger doors (probably not until next spring). I live in Minnesnowta and was wondering how well the PowerSteps work in an area where you get lots of ice and snow? If anyone has experience with them, please let me know!

I was wondering the same thing, I have been looking at the AMP Research steps for some time and about the only thing holding me back from getting them is how the will work with a bunch of ice on them.

Why don't folks like the factory steps? I put the X OEM steps on a 2500 T/D burb I had and it looked even better then on the X.

Re: Anybody in snow country got the PowerStep?

Wasn't it the Lincoln Navigator that had the power drop down running boards?

Wonder if they've had any heavy ice release probs?

Re: Anybody in snow country got the PowerStep?

A few years ago while ice fishing during a warm spell I picked up several inches of ice under my 99 F150 4x4. During this time the four wheel drive motor died (35,500 miles)! Before I brought the truck in I spent hours chizeling ice chunks from under the truck. There must have been hundred of pounds of ice under it! The service man asked why I had so much ice under truck and I said, "I'm not sure"! He said he better keep the truck in the heated shop for a while to melt some, I said sure!!! Wonder if the new owner ever looked under it and noticed all the chizel marks?

In MN if you ice fish much I'd pass on the motor powered steps.
