285/75-16's are 33" in diamiter. Many of us run them on stock wheels, though I understand wider aftermarket wheels impove handling.

I just installed 295s (33.5") and they fill up the wheelwell nicely. I'd like to go bigger but don't have the $$ to get new rims right now.

Keep in mind that I have X-springs and 4" blocks in the rear, though.

Did springs and shocks all at once so while I can't say for sure one did more for the ride than the other, I'm 99% sure it was mostly the springs. I've done shock swaps before w/o changing springs and it's just not that much difference. I've even gone the Bilstein route on my old F250 and to be honest, I just don't think they're that much different from any other shock out there. I have pro-comps on now, if for no other reason than they have a lifetime warranty and their customer service is very good.

Was that an over all 4" lift then, or is it more like a 2.5" leveling kit plus rear blocks.

I want to put Nitto Dune Grapplers (305/70R16E) on my 2002 Ex and I am pretty sure I'll want to raise it at least 2.5".
