Attn: Black X Owners

Guys have I found the product! Mr. Cleans new car wash system! I have been searching high and low for something to dry the X with after I wash it. Blades and shams pull to tight across the surface, I'm always worried about scratching the clear coat. Figured I would drop the twenty bucks on what I thought would end up on the shelf with the rest of the "sure things" I have purchased over the years. Still getting over the flu, I could not stand looking at the dirty X Friday so I pulled it out of the garage and washed it. I used the DI filter to give it a final rinse, then pulled the truck back into the garage soaking wet. Later that evening when we got home from dinner, truck was still soaking wet. Figured I would have to wash and dry it again Saturday morning. When I went out to the garage the next morning I was shocked! Truck was completely dry, without the first spot. Glass, mirrors, even the wheels were clean and spot free. Down side, looks as if you can only get about 5 rinses using the cartridges before they have to be replaced ($6.00). Now if I can just find the true no touch system for washing, my Saturdays could be spent chasing this darn slice.

I found the true no touch system. Its called Pueblo gold . Ive yet to touch the X with a washing or drying instrument. My when to wash gage is the rear window (darkest part of the X and attracts dirt like a magnet).

Thanks for posting about that. I've seen the commercails and tought it was a bit odd. However, I've thought about adding a water filter to my hose reel just so I could rinse with filtered water. The commercial makes it look too easy, but you are saying it really is that easy. Wow, I may have to try it!

Sounds good. Things become more difficult when it has not been above freezing for more than a month. Using a chamois takes a long time so when it warms up I may give it a try.

Re: Attn: Black X Owners

Just another thought, but when they plumbed in my water softener in the garage (California doesn't have basements and it was near the water main) I had them add an additional hose bib for my vehicles. Now I can rinse with soft water(read very low mineral count in water) but my neighbors also tried this contraption. I laughed until I saw the results. A dark royal blue Avalanche and lots of plastic...not a darn drop or white spot on it. I vote yes.

Re: Attn: Black X Owners

Where can I buy one of these systems to try out myself? My "X" is Mineral Grey, but my wifes Tahoe is Dark Charcoal Metallic. Nearly black! Regardless of colors, spots suck! I'd love to have something that easy.

Re: Attn: Black X Owners

I use DI systems all of the time when washing Fleets of cars. It does work great, just make sure that you rinse everything well. Also, DON"T use dish soap. for some reason it does not rinse as clean, and it is really damaging to the paint. I don't care what Mr. Zaino says.

Re: Attn: Black X Owners

I agree, but I think Zaino only recommends it when you are wanting to strip the paint clean before waxing. Defeinetly wouldn't want to use it for everyday washing (although that explains why wax didn't hold well 20 years ago when I washed 1-2 times a week, with dish soap )
