How much have you paid for your bars? Where did you get them? Have you got the model number handy? I've noticed that there are 1 1/2" and 1 1/8" bars for the front. Should I go with the bigger one? Is there any drawback? I didn't check yet, but is the 1 1/8" bar the stock diameter?
I ordered the shocks and sway bars from shox.com and had the install performed by Muddytires (303) 254-8686 in Northglenn, CO on Melody Drive.
Bilsteins (2) BE5-6209-HO "rear", (2) BE5-6208-HO "front" were $62.48 each.
Hellwig Sway Bars (1) 7463 "rear", (1) 7640 "front" were $139.00 each
Installation was $102.00 for the shocks and $136.00 for the sway bars.
Grand total with shipping ($49.20) was $815.00
I dropped the X off at 9:00 and it was ready by noon. They did a great job. Would recommend doing it the same way. Saved quite a bit on the parts ordering them direct.
The suspension is now as it should have been from the factory. The ride is firm and controlled, no more porpoising, leaning out in the curves, wallowing over drainage dips and so on… It now rides and handles more like my wife's E320 wagon. Love those German suspensions.
It is really a dramatic improvement and well worth the money. Plan on towing later today over to Rifle Falls and back. I am actually looking forward to it.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'm sure the wife will enjoy the better cornering. Now all I'll have to do is get her to keep all 4 wheels on the ground.
Ditto to all of the above.
Note: I like the Rancho RS 9000's for the adjustment when towing.
I purchased from Super Duty Headquarters for approx the same price range, installed myself.
Rear install=2 hrs, Front 1/2 hr. (this is on a 4x4, I understand front shock install on 4x2 is more complex.)
Improvement on handling is excellent.
Good luck to you.

PSDExcursion: Bought my Helwig rear sway bar from J.C. Whitney @ $119 (first time customer). Think it was about $135 W/shipping. There is a 1/2 off of shipping till sept. 01. No problems. Still have the stock front bar, but did upgrade shocks to Bils. Couldn't be happier with the results. Think I would stay with the stock front sway bar first than replace if it deamed necessery. It has pretty hefty front sway bar from the factory and upgrading would be marginal improvement. Installation is easy, you need a 1/2" 18mm deep socket, and a second set of hands would really help. Torque the bolts that hold the arms to frame tight. My $.02 cliffsurfs __________________________________________________ ________________________________________01 EX LTD W/more than enough opts.
