I installed the 450/550 springs on my 2000 Excursion, 4x4, which raised the front end 2". As per the advice on this forum, I want to install 4" blocks on the rear, to level it. I was told that the blocks from a late model F-350 would do the trick.
When I called the parts dept at my dealership, they told me that blocks from a '99 F-250 are almost 4", and when I asked for blocks from a 2000 F-350, they said that there are a lot of choices, based on wheel base, springs, and so forth.
does anyone know the part number of the block for this application?
Its been a while since Ive been on the board, but I was curious... How do you level the the truck by raising the front by 2 inches and the back by 4 inches. I too installed the x springs and the front end is only slightly higher. It raised the front just under 2 inches. I am considering a 1 inch block or possibly overload spings to "level" the truck. Before I installed the x springs the front was about an inch lower.

Hey, Hookem----haven't seen you here in a while.......the 4" block isn't actually 4"---it's slightly lower----I'm told that it will level her out---I'll let you know after I do the job tomorrow---but, to be honest, if it was slightly higher in the rear, I wouldn't be dissappointed!!!!!
I was looking at my truck today and the x-springs have settled to the point that the only time the front is higher than the rear is when I have a full tank of fuel. Right now with 1/4 tank, the truck is perfectly level.
You might wait a little while longer and see how much the springs settle before you start work on the rear springs.
I'm planning on installing air bags eventually in the rear. That way I can adjust the rear height to my liking.

I'd go for air bags too, instead of blocks. It's about the same amount of work to install them, but you'll gain a variable load carrying capacity that simple blocks won't give you.
This is just my opinion. Please don't tell my wife. She's the boss.
My X code springs have not settled either. I was expecting 1/2" or so.
Aces-- when you figure out the part numbers, would you post them? Maybe you can get the part numbers for the 2" blocks that will fit the X too. I am not sure 4" will be the "best" choice. I do not want to lift the center of gravity by that much nor add that much aerodynamic drag. Cheers.
Polo---you have the "2inch" blocks on your truck now!!!!! You either replace w/the 4" (which is really 3 7/8), or with an after mkt 3" block. I believe the correct 4" tapered blocks are F81Z 5598 GA (L), and F81Z 5598 FA (R).
After reading a lot of old posts, it seems that you have to specify that the blocks are for a 137" wheelbase.
Hi guys-
I installed the Air Ride rear bags with the Load Controller system and couldn't be happier. Doesn't alter the empty ride quality, greatly enhances the loaded ride quality and rake associated with a trailer load, and if inflated harder than normal will enhance normal handling characteristics with slight sacrifice in ride quality.
All in all, for $250 ( I did the install) it is truly versitile and very complimentary for the X.
Aces---
No, I'm not installing yours!!!!! (good to hear from you again----how was the honeymoon???)

OK---just came back from the suspension shop, and they swapped out my blocks for 4"blocks that were left over from a Trailmaster lift kit......the rear is a smidge higher than the front---less than 1/2". I love the way it looks----if you're fanatical, get the Ford blocks (part numbers listed earlier in this thread), and you'll be right at level. I don't care, because w/a few folks riding in the back, and some payload, it'll be level anyway, and the front still might settle a tad.
I'm done!!!!!!! Now, for the Bushwackers, and the Lund front valance.
By the way, I have 16X8 rims, and I wish I had the 9.75X16.5's, so that I'd have more choices of tires. Still can't figure out what will best fill the wheel wells, now that I'm 2" higher all around. Any ideas??
