Brake Controller Wiring Harness Included?

Just purchased a 2003 6.0 Eddie Bauer Excursion. Isn't there suppose to be a connector for the trailer and a plug with wires for the brake controller included? My 2001 had these but the new one didn't. Called the Sales person and he didn't know. Said he would check.

Also, should there be a mat in the bottom of the center console? My 2001 had a mat in the bottom but the 2003 doesn't.

I will be back at the dealer Saturday and would like to know if I should be asking for these items.

Re: Brake Controller Wiring Harness Included?

I have an 03 X and my wiring was tucked up behind a steel rail behind
the dash cubby , it was a real pain in the A** to fish it out . Why it was in their I don't know .

Re: Brake Controller Wiring Harness Included?

I got my 03 X two months ago and the brake wires your talking about were in the glove box in a plastic bag. I didn't know at first what they were until I started reading the info inside the package.
Later,
Bill

Mine is in the glove compartment now. The salesman grabbed one out of another excursion and gave it to me Saturday. I see now why this dealer can't find anything on the new vehicles. They appear to just grab whatever your are missing out of another new vehicle and hope the buyer doesn't miss it.

Re: Brake Controller Wiring Harness Included?

I think that what happens is that when a new truck is "delivered" then pull EVERYTHING out of them so people don't steal things like the headphones, remotes, etc while they're looking at them. At the dealership where i bought mine everything was in the parts department and the guy had to go back there with the VIN to get it.

Regards,
Dave
