Bump Stops

So what year was it that they changed the bump stops to the solid (and slightly smaller) ones? My factory stops are toast (one is almost completely gone and the other is badly torn). I want to replace with the solid jobbies and get a little more travel. Springs are stock. Thanks in advance.

Re: Bump Stops

02 came with soft cone style. much softer upon impact. some use the superduty stop which are much smaller and should rarely hit them but they are solid.

Early and Mid 02 had the older accordian style.
If you have an 02 with the new style we thought it was May or latter build or they have been changed.
As far as ordering order 03 stops and you will be good to go.

Re: Bump Stops

Thanks guys - this was the info I was after. A lift is not possible, as the wife insists that both vehicle go in the garage at night - and stock I only have a couple of inches clearance. I was more interested in when they started putting the solid stops on - so that's what I'll order. Thanks again!

Re: Bump Stops

You could also due with Us or Vs or one of each and you will still be OK with the garage.

Re: Bump Stops

Us or Vs are actually on my wish list - but the truck toys have to take a break for a while. The wife still gives me a hard time about my "Gold Plated" BTS Trans. She loves it though! For now I have to stick with regular maintenance items - which can be pricey enough with two teenagers in the house. The daughter decided that last week was a bad week - she clipped the garage with the Mustang, and the next day clipped another student's parked car with the truck. Aargh!
