California Emissions - Diesel Forum

I have a 2000 Excursion with California Emissions...live in NJ and it's not required here...none of my other PSDs have that package-and I kinda feel like the X is a bit of a dog.

Anything I can do? Parts to eliminate? Programming options?

Just started looking at this and I'm really at a loss.

The California emissions you are talking about are reguards to the glow plugs system( a module instead of a solinoid). Not the engine programing. If you feel under powered.Get a couple of Good upgrades like a D/P chip exhaust and intake. Problem solved [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]FJF

Thanks-it might just be the different gearing then-but I didn't think it would effect things that much.

All excursions were california models in 2000 and at least some other years, maybe all. My 2000 was such a dog with the stock programming that it was terrifying to drive- making a left turn in traffic was just about out of the question.

I think you should put a call in to Jody Tipton as suggested.
