If you turn the engine off without your foot on the brake you might have problem turning the key. If the key is stuck then apply and maintain brake pressure then shift out of park and back into park.
Do you have the steering wheel turned all the way to one side or the other when you shut it off? This has happened to my wife a few times - all I tell her to do is crank on the steering wheel in the same direction the tires are pointed and turn the key.

Ditto +1.
Embarrasingly enough, I got stumped by this once myself...but we're talking 10-15 years ago.
Once i pulled in and jammed the tire into the curb without realizing it....
you should have seen the fight I had jerking the wheel to release the pressure....
wondered if I was going to have to call roadside assistance
but it did teach me a lesson... those wheels are ALWAYS straight now !!!
I do back into most spots now since I've learned the backup assist is easier to use than looking over the huge hood to see what I'm going to mow down
I have a next door neighbor. He bought a new Porshe Boster. He was in his garage and I walked over to see it. I said lets go for a ride and he said he could not turn the key, it turned before and he was dialing a tow truck. I said wait, hang up, got in the car, turned the wheel and the key turned. I saved him $50, caused some embarrasment and got to drive it There you go. Just don't park with the wheels turned or turn the wheel in the oposite direction and it will be fine. You can mail us all $50....heres your sign
