Re: In-Channel Vent Visors for an X???

The tape used for anything that mounts to the outside is a joke, I would never use it, no matter what the item was, XM uses a very strong magnet, the tape on your Sirius will fail for sure. I would think Sirius would have a magnet one. The only time I use the tape is to hold the item in place so I can screw it in place.

Re: In-Channel Vent Visors for an X???

I think all the satellite car antennas, Sirius and XM come with magnets. The tape is actually two extremely small 3M strips that hold the antenna tail in place and is used to protect the antenna cable. Some of these tails come with a very small magnet instead of tape but the one I saw from Sirius looked a little cheap. XM and Sirius both offer magnet or tape style tails and there are many ways to mount the antenna where you do not have to use the tail at all. Where I mounted the antenna works perfect for me, it’s toward the rear of our X and in a place so I do not have to see it unless I’m giving her a bath.

As for tape on the Vent Visors, I don’t think it’s a joke, sounds like some like them better vs. the in-channel style. That’s cool; I appreciate the feed back either way!!!! For me, I like the in-channel set up minus the tape for reasons stated earlier and the fact that I’m looking for a more stream line look.

Thanks again!!!

Re: In-Channel Vent Visors for an X???

Weahtertech makes them for the x I have them on my 2000 x. The only problem I have is the left rear door falls off. I am on my second one for that door and needing to order a third. Once the tape is stuck its done.I have lunds on my 99 f350 that sticks on the paint, they have never fell off.I have thought about pulling them off and getting the ones that stick on the paint but what I notice is that on the weathergaurds the visor goes down along the molding next to the mirror were as the lunds stop when it gets into the vicinity of the molding.if yopu have the cbetr mirrors installed they will not fold in all the way without hitting the visors.weathertech visors that is.

try this... weathertech
