I don't know if it was an option but I would like to add some. I would buy the factory lights and space them exact to OEM. Running the wire could be a trick, I am not keen on taking down the headliner of a brand new truck to run the wire down the pillar. I could drop the console and hopefully have access there to push a wire to the pillar without dropping the headliner. Who knows until you start at it. If someone else has done this please fill me in. Thanks.

If you're not keen on taking down the headliner of a brand new truck... how do you feel about drilling big holes in the roof sheet metal?!
Lots of people have done it - even pickup guys, who can actually get them installed by the factory (but didn't, for whatever reason.)

Well at least I won't see them. The visors trap wind, cause problems in the wash and the lights corode after a year, I had them on a Suburban. I think I can seal the roof top holes well enough. I had them on a dodge and they never leaked or even burned out after 190,000 miles. When I am done I will post pics.

Rich,I have the roof clearance lights on our 2002 Excursion
The Lund visors are nice and there is some really sharp models out now with the clearance lights built in,but after time, miles and wind they sometimes to tend to crack at where the mounting bolts attach to,I had my right side mount break coming south out of Napa,Ca. a couple years ago,it was not a pleasant experience.
Probably due to alot of the head pressure they take.

You'll need to drop the headliner, there will be a wire to hook into behind the glovebox area, come down the passenger side A-pillar. I used the stock Ford clearance and id lights as used optionally on the pickups. Have the parts guy look up the parts involved in the roofline harness, lights, gaskets.
It is a nice modification to do, gives you a distinctive appearance and in fog and blowing snow, sometimes it is the most visible feature on the truck at night.

Good info here. I havn't done it yet and may wait until it is warm. It is just too cold to start this project. I have always liked them and have always ordered them but this was not an option this time so it is up to me. They make you much more visible
