Compass, Mpg Gauge

Has Any One Had A Problem With The Ovehead Compass And Mpg Display Going Completly Dead On A 2004 Excursion With 6 Liter?

You can find this one in search also. enter overhead console dead and click on the overhead display problem thread. Its just easier this way because most question and answers are at your finger tips.

The four 68 ohm survace mount resistors that are hooked in parallel were onhooked on one side (bad solder joint).

very common issue. crappy solder job and high heat pancake (between roof and headliner)are the culprits.
