Computer Desk Mount for the X also a new model soon - Diesel Forum

FYI,

I heard about the computer desk options for the X in here a while back, much by accident.

I have been looking for a while and this looks great. The post in this forum said we had to use a universal mount and screw it to the floor of the X.

I just talked to jottodesk and they will release a custom mount for the X in about 4-5 weeks. It will attach to the pass side front seat bolts (r&r bolts) and rise between the center hump and the seat.

Cost will be about $325.00 for the whole kit. Universal mount with screws is about $214.00 leaving about $111.00 for the base. Little high, but may be worth it?

If you are looken have a look see and maybe wait for the X mount.
No data online about the new mount yet though.

That's great! Thanks for the heads up. Seems like they might have missed the boat though. I was at their place about a year and a half ago when I bought mine and the design guy told me they probably wouldn't make one just for the Ex since it was fixing to be obsolete. They must've gotten a number of requests. I use mine all of the time and love it but I'll deffinately upgrade to the no-holes mounting base as soon as it comes out. Then I can put the universal base in my wife's pickup.

Keep us informed and post up here when the new mounts are available if you would.

I really can't describe how much safer these are than putting your laptop on the seat or console. Just the angle of vision adds a great degree of safety.
