Cup Holder Fit

I am a PSD SD owner that swapped the center tray on my center console for the Excursion cup holder insert that sits in the center console. However, the cup openings do not seem to fit anything I put in there. It is too large to fit 12 oz cans, bottles, or any of my coffee mugs!

Anyone have some ideas on how to "snug" up the holes?

Re: Cup Holder Fit

I had read somewhere here about the switch that you did. How much was the part from Ford? Was it somewhat easy to exchange? I to have the center console and love it, but I do not like the factory drink holders! Please let me know the part # if you have it and what it cost you. Thanks!

Re: Cup Holder Fit

I haven't puchased one yet but up in the Powerstroke 99 forum someone bought this up.
They exchanged it w/ a cup holder Ford part # YC3Z-7813562-BAA. I don't know if this was a larger or smaller cup holder.

Re: Cup Holder Fit

The part number is noted above. Make sure that you order the insert in the same color as your interior (grey or tan). I paid around $12 for the cup holder insert. To install pull out the old one and snap the new one in. After using it for a few days I pulled the cup holders back out and put the old tray back in since the cup holder just did'nt work very well. I ended up getting an adjustable cup holder (The Wizard) from WalMart and used it with the original holders.
