Damn Rocks!

Driving to the Airport last week at about 65 mph. Heard this loud noise (rock hitting windshield). My son points to a thing on the windshield and says "Look Dad, a splattered bug!". No such luck. The first imperfection on my new baby.

Anyone know if those Windshield repair places are any good?

If break hasn't started to streak too bad, some of those guys do wonders... As I tend to catch rocks regularly, I have had a few fixed. 75 mph moving windshield hitting a rock floating in mid air is alway a problem.

Trying to decide to grab an excursion psd when I find it or wait and order an 001 (too late to get an 000.

I took my Crown Vic in a few years ago to get the rock chip patched. What they do is drill a hole in the glass to stop the break from turning into a crack. They then fill the hole in with a clear epoxy resin. It is allmost invisible. The good news is that it isn't very expensive but most insurance companys will wave the deductable if you ask.
