I took my Crown Vic in a few years ago to get the rock chip patched. What they do is drill a hole in the glass to stop the break from turning into a crack. They then fill the hole in with a clear epoxy resin. It is allmost invisible. The good news is that it isn't very expensive but most insurance companys will wave the deductable if you ask.
