Anyone understand what is going on with Diesel prices upward movement lately? It now costs as much as Super Unleaded now. Whats up with that? Since America is dependent on trucking commerce, shouldnt prices always be lower than gasoline? Sounds like a supply and demand thing, but comeon.
I believe the cost increase is due to the normal winter seasonal demand for heating oil and other similar products. However, saying that, diesel fuel prices in the Baltimore area have stayed level or dropped some over the 6 months. Diesel is about 1.40 a gallon.

Clif...my only guess is that Texas is again cow-towing to the liberals at the EPA and is increasing the taxes on that evil polluting diesel. Heck, diesel is basically a by-product of the refining process, so it is super cheap to make. We should be paying close to HALF of regular unlead.
I won't get into the EPA fiasco Houston had this year with dropping our speed limits and then raising them back up (but of course, not all the way back up to where they were).
I hope that fuel prices come down soon. Maybe when we aquire Iraq?
EPA = What a Joke of an agency. And just think we have to pay for it to run. Secede you say? I am game.
Was going through some paperwork this weekend and found some fuel tickets for last year in Dec. .$74 a gallon to compared to 1.34 yesterday. That is over $24.00 difference in a fill up from last year.
Can you give a nutshell testemonial on your U-Code spring swap? How have you liked them. Is the truck level, nose-high with or without a trailer? Thanks. Drop me a line at ian.martin@cardinal.com. I'm in Houston.

Here is a quote from a post where I talked about the results of my U code swap:
"OK guys, I did not want to change the springs myself so I took it to Ford. They did it ("U" code spring swap) for $330 labor (includes alignment). I just got it back today and let me tell you: THE RIDE IS INCREDIBLE NOW!!! It literally feels like I am riding on an air cloud. The front end is about 3/4" lower (1/4 tank of gas) than the back, which is what I wanted. The front end rose about 1 1/4" which is what I expected. I have a 150# grill guard, so I suspect those who use these springs will be about 1/2" lower in the front than back. Keep in mind the difference is more dramatic on my X since I was riding on the bump stops. I think the "U" codes are the right springs to put on this vehicle because the ride is plush and the front end is slightly lower than the back to give some room for towing or cargo and still keep level. I cannot beleive the difference. Money well spent. I feel higher up too. Anyway just wanted to share my experience with you all. Don't hesitate to do this upgrade."
I just posted in a previous thread that my ass end has dropped since putting in the u's and the u's have stayed put.
But I hear what you are saying. Nice ride.
