Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
I noticed somnething wierd the other day, for the first time in 3 years, when I placed the gear selector in park, it sound like the door locks were trying to activate.
Am I missing something or, was this just an illusion?

Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
you can set it to do that. its in the owners manual somewhere. on a side note, mine won't allow you to lock the door with the engine running and nobody sitting in the drivers seat. you lock it, get out, shut the door, and it unlocks by itself.
Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
If memory recall is correct both of the above can be programed in door locks
Look on diesel van form for Larry's little secrets and the procedure could be listed in his items
But 5+ years ago the method of programing was listed on froum

On my 05 I reset to not lock when put into park I don't think much has changed.

Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
My '05 EB has the auto-lock feature, but it was not available on my '01 Limited ... so yes and no. I'm not sure which year they started carrying that feature as standard.
Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
Mine locks when I key-on the key.

Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
Mine must have had it all disabled because the only way it will lock is if I hit the PDL switch. I haven't tried to lock the doors with the key in the ignition because I just have one key for right now. So, if I go to a truck-stop and want to leave the AC running for the dog, can I just take the key fob with me to lock and un-lock the doors? Will the system let that happen?

Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
I have 2 keys and 2 fobs. I can lock the truck with the engine running with either fob. I like to leave the truck running with the AC on in many situations.
My doors do not auto lock ever. I have to hit the paddle switch to lock mine when driving. I would not mind auto lock when engaging gear but do not want to loose the ability to lock the truck running so I might not mess with it.
I am thinking of getting a remote start. In Houston it would be nice to start it before going out to get the AC cranking. They also allow you to remove the key from the ignition leaving the engine running. In Texas is is illegal to leave the keys in the vehicle but I do not believe that it is illegal to leave the engine running. The remote start also allows you to take the keys and have the engine turn off after so many minutes allowing for turbo and EGT cooling.
Re: Do the Excursions have automatic door lock systems?
I have an 01 and it locks when I put it in gear or should I say when the darn door lock work. It can be nice when you are going in those not so nice area to know the doors are locked. So it looks like from the way people have responded that some have it turned on and ohter dont. Good luck with finding what you are looking to do. I wish I could help you out.

I have the Ford Gold system and do that quite a bit. If I stop for a few minutes, I hit the button and take the keys.
