Going to be picking up a 2WD Excursion with the 7.3 motor. Looking at a couple of them so I'm not sure what year though I suppose that doesn't matter much. My outlaws used to have an Expedition, and at least one time the right front fender got into a discussion with the edge of their garage door as the fit was a little tight. I'm living in a condo currently, and going to be moving into a new home here pretty quickly so I can't just go out and measure. Might be a silly question to you all, but does your X fit in your garage, or are they all resigned to the driveway?
Even without the monster truck lift, my garage has always been too full to put the excursion inside. I think the excursion is 19.6" long and most garages are 20 to 22 feet long. Height should be ok. If you have tow mirrors and a single car garage, you are going to be flipping them in or tearing them off. There may technically be enough width, but reality always bites.

24x24 (outside dimension) garage. It fits in AND I can actually work on one end or the other. Not enough room on both ends to work though. I have about 3 1/2 -4 feet in front of it after the door closes. Now if I just had a topside creeper.
Have a good one,
Dave

Yes and on my old Y2K X had plenty of room. Now the old 99PSD super cab was about 6" on each end.
If you have a 7' high door have someone check before you go blasting in there . I did not have but about an inch clearance.

Mine fits in the garage with 1/4" clearance left on top. I had to remove the luggage rack cross braces though. It's a 7" tall garage door. I have about a foot at both ends to spare too.
Take Care,
Lane

Nope. 20x20ish garage. half the garage is filled with motors, trannys , tools and a workbench. The other half gets the wifes car. One night when my wife was working, we were supposed to get hail, so I thought I would put the X in. Completely cleaned out her side. Pulled the mirrors in and pulled the X in. It fit height wise no problems. I pulled all the way in until the bumper was resting on the back wall. The garage door would sit on the rear bumper, but not close.

U say new house ...
if you are building get the 1' higher door like I did...
also I bumped out one end by 2 feet since my wife has been known to back into trees along the driveway anyway so I wanted to give her as much room as possible
but while we were building we were in a rental house built in the 80's and the 03 Ex fit with about 2" clearance on the top as long as I was not under the opener and about 3 or 5 inches at the back...
(granted I had the bull bar on the front too !!!)
My 2000 X fits in my standard 2 car garage along with my wife's 1999 Maxima, a fridge, t.v. with cable, large trash can, lawn mower, lawn tools, and many white wire shelves built high on the X side and strategically placed. With all of this in the garage, I still have room to get in and out of the X and car just fine as well as walk between them or next to the car which is next to the door going into the house. You just have to organize, organize, organize BTW, I fold my passenger mirror in and swing it in pretty close to the exterior wall on the passenger side...you can become a pro at swinging it in. Heck, sometimes I edge very slow the last few inches and barely touch the back wall...when I put it in Park it will creep forward a hair so it's not putting pressure on the wall (be careful if you do this). I also cut out a small square where my hitch cover lines up with the back wall and I put a small American flag over it so you can't see it. This allows you to have the rear bumper close to flush with the back wall. I think there are some pics. of my X in the garage in my Webshots link under 2000 X!

You guys should see my garage with my Ex in it. It's kind of funny. I have to pull in until the front bumper is touching the front wall, and then the door will close behind it with LESS THAN A HALF INCH OF CLEARANCE. You have to go through the truck to get to the other side of the garage with the door closed. If it's even a little crooked in there, the garage door hits the back bumper. My truck has 33 inch tires and a 4 inch lift, so I had to take off the roof rack and it clears the 7 foot high door with about 2 inches to spare. Forget getting another vehicle in there unless I start dating a girl that drives a Mini.

Yes it does, with a 3" lift, 315s and a Thule rack and I still have about 5"s left. I have an 8ft door though I always lift my trucks and planned ahead when I built this house.
