Door Locks

It has been a while since I have posted on this board. I even had to reregister.

I traded my 01 - 250 Crew Cab for an 02 - EX. Only have 500 miles on it, but so far I have door lock problems. When I go forward the doors lock. Thats fine but when I go to park I want them to unlock. I am tired of getting to the rear then having to go back to the drivers side and unlock the doors.

My wife has a 2002 Suburban and so far it has this thing beat all to pieces on creature conforts. This may be a short romance if I don't start liking it any better.

Has anyone found out how to make all the doors unlock when it goes to Park.

Thanks for your help

Horace

Re: Door Locks

I really don't want to disable the locks, but I would like it to unlock all the doors

Re: Door Locks

I don't believe it is in the system's logic, think of it this way if you are going some where unsafe and you place the shifter into park would you really want all the doors to unluck automaticly? The lawyers would love that, here in our sleeply little town a few years ago we had a young child pulled from the parents car in a kid napping, so I guess I can learn to deal with going back over and unlocking all the doors.

Re: Door Locks

Disable the auto lock is the only way. When I step from the X I just hit the unlock switch. Just have to get into that habit. We dumped a Sub*** for the X. Agreed that the X beats it. Just hope my PSD doesn't start the idle knock and the like. So far so good. 15 city, 18 highway.

Re: Door Locks

Was this Is this feature on the 2000? I don't recall seeing it in the manual. Unable to look it up as X is in the shop.

Re: Door Locks

I can't speak on the 2000 but the '02 can have auto lock disabled. I'd do it but my wife insists that auto lock stay enabled. Ask the dealer and have them make that change if it isn't in your book.

Re: Door Locks

As far as I know, the 2000 model year does not have the auto lock feature. I wish it did.
