Door panels & speakers

Hi folks

I'm new here and just bought a clean 2003, 7.3l, Eddie B, Excursion with 56000 miles. I LOVE it. My question is, I'm trying to put a new sound system in and want to know how to get the door panels off without breaking things. I also would like to know the BEST fit (size wise) for speakers in the front doors and second set of doors. The rear speakers (from what im reading) are more forgiving on size. Oh what the heck your reading this How about the best size for the rear speakers also......

Thanks

Jim

Re: Door panels & speakers

to get the inner door panel off:

- remove the window/mirror control unit on top of the armrest
- remove small bolt (8MM, I think)
- carefully pry reflector lens from the panel & remove the bolt that's underneath
- the plastic panel can then be removed by tugging it out vertically.
