Help! It's driving me crazy. Now that the weather is getting warm, I'm getting a popping sound in my drivers side rear and passenger side front doors. One of them was here last year in the warm weather but it's worse now andI have another door doing it. Any ideas what this is and what I can do to stop it?
Thanks!
Pastuki

If you're going down the road and it's rattling with the bumps even minor ones, the hinges/latches/strikers just might need a little adjustment.

I'd try applying some white lithium grease to the door latch mechanisms and strikers first, put some WD40 or alike on the mechanisms if the grease is not available.
If that doesn't fix it then you'll have to loosen the door striker/s and tap em inwards a couple times with a rubber mallet but wouldn't move the striker for more than a 1/16"-1/8" before testing the door/s to see if they close better to eliminate the rattle, just don't make the doors too tight as it could accelerate the paint wear on the top of the inner door to the roof weatherstrip.
There's supposed to be a rattle kit out there but haven't read anything positive on them.
Try out the grease first for sure.

Mine did this when new in the cold, was better in the warm but has gone away now. The pop may be the body mount (rubber hockey puck thing) I don't know why mine stopped but it did. I found if I cracked the window it went away, try this to make sure it is not the mounts.

I don't know whether this might be the issue with your noises, but try silicone spray on the weatherstripping (it's good to do it occasionally anyway) It cured all window squeaks, rattles and other pops in my X...minor as they were, but very annoying.
Check carefully around the doors where the weatherstripping meets the metal. You might see evidence of rubbing.

I was at the Ft Worth auto show a few weeks ago and noticed the design of the weatherstrip molding has chnaged on the '05 Ex. Maybe it is better than the poor engineered w/s on my '02.
